Clients from the Crimea can use their funds anywhere in the mainland of Ukraine

UniCredit Bank clients from the Crimea can use their funds anywhere in the mainland of Ukraine. In addition, the transfer of funds through online banking is preserved.

Taking into account the inability to continue work on the peninsula, the bank was forced to cancel the deposit agreements of Crimean customers on April 17. All funds, including the amount of the deposit and interests, were transferred to the current accounts, including card ones. The customers, whose deposits were transferred to the current card account, can use it today already. The clients, who do not have the card, can get their deposits through a special «U-card», issued instantly when visiting the most convenient branch in Ukraine. When reissuing a deposit for a new term UniCredit Bank offers a loyalty program of +1.5 % for UAH deposits.

It is worth emphasizing that UniCredit Bank does not block Crimean customers’ cards, and they will still be served until the expiration date.

The following limits were set for the existing Crimean cards covering the whole territory of Ukraine:

  • Cash withdrawals, regardless of the ATM – 1000 UAH/day
  • Cashless payments in retail network - 5000 UAH/day
  • Cashless transfers between UniCredit Bank cards - 5000 UAH/day
  • Cashless transfers via ATMs/kiosks between payment cards in national currency and payment cards of foreign banks - 5000 UAH/day

To remind, from April 15, 2014 UniCredit Bank was forced to suspend operations and close all branches in the Crimea. The bank, which operates under the laws of Ukraine, no longer has a legal basis for the operation and provision of banking services in the region.

Ukrsotsbank is one of the largest universal banks of Ukraine, operating in the local market since 1990. The bank offers full range of services to individuals and corporate clients.

The renovated Ukrsotsbank emerged on 31 October 2016 as a result of strategic deal whereby 99.9% of Ukrsotsbank shares have been transferred from UniCredit Group to ABH Holdings S.A. (АВНН) in exchange for a minority 9.9% stake in ABHH. Thus, the bank has combined 26-year-old traditions of Ukrsotsbank’s client-centric attitude, European quality of service inherent to UniCredit, as well as international banking expertise of ABHH in a number of European countries including CIS. Thanks to the successful synthesis and synergy of the two assets of ABHH in Ukraine, Ukrsotsbank and Alfa-Bank, the banking market of Ukraine will see the rise of a new stronger financial institution. This, in turn, will spur up technological advance, increase efficiency, improve quality of service for the clients, reduce cost of banking services whereas their range will inevitably expand.

The extensive retail network of Ukrsotsbank consists of 237 branches, its headcount reaching nearly 5 thousand employees.
