Borys Tymonkin steps down from the position as CEO of PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™


Since July 1st 2013, Borys Tymonkin will step down as CEO of PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™. The banker will leave the financial service industry to take charge of financial sector in VETEK group of companies.

The Supervisory Board of PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™, has initiated a process of finding a successor, who will be announced in due time as soon as the process is completed. The First Deputy CEO, Mr. Graziano Cameli, who has been closely working with Mr. Tymonkin over the past 3 years will lead the bank in the transition process.

The Supervisory Board of PJSC “Ukrsotsbank”, UniCredit Bank™, would also like to thank Mr. Tymonkin for his outstanding job.

During Borys Vladislavovich Tymonkin leadership, the Bank registered the highest performances as well as the largest transaction in its history was concluded. The bank was rewarded as market leader in syndicated loans and structured finance within the financial community, which was possible thankful to some changes in the working philosophy with large corporate clients and international clients by shifting simple corporate lending to the all-inclusive service. Most successful projects were the ones related to customers such as DTEK, Metinvest, Kernel, Creative and Milkiland.

Borys Tymonkin, CEO of PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™, is certain about the future of the bank and confident of its successful development.

"More than 12 years of my life were spent in the Bank, including the period of active growth between 2001 and 2007, the crisis recovery joining UniCredit, the solution of all tasks on processes and procedures unification in accordance with the policies of the Group. For the time being, the bank has fully completed the reorganization, the international management team has been formed and adjusted and a fruitful cooperation with Vienna and Milan offices has been established. The merger of PJSC "UniCredit Bank" will be completed by the end of the current year. The Bank is in the stage of organic growth and I feel certain about its future."

In his current role as CEO, Borys Tymonkin supervised the Bank's Legal Department, Security Department, Identity and Communication Department and Compliance Function. In addition chaired Credit and Investment Committee, Asset and Liability Committee, Changes and Projects Management Committee. He cooperates with the National Bank of Ukraine, Government and Executive Authorities, judiciary establishments, tax authorities, law enforcements and regulatory authorities.


The main activity of VETEK GC is focused on trading, investments into the oil and gas industry, including modernization and restoration of the refining sector competitiveness.

VETEK consolidates different assets, which include trading petroleum products, liquefied hydrocarbons and natural gas and also is engaged in production, trade and investment activity.

The Group includes trading companies in Ukraine, Russia, Belorus, Kazakhstan and Europe, Petroleum refinery (Odesskiy NPZ), developed network of petrol filling stations in Ukraine and Europe, logistics business.

Head of VETEK Supervisory Board Sergey Kurchenko is the President of Metalist FC. The team is the silver medals’ winner of Ukrainian Championship 2012/13.

The renovated Ukrsotsbank emerged on 31 October 2016 as a result of strategic deal whereby 99.9% of Ukrsotsbank shares have been transferred from UniCredit Group to ABH Holdings S.A. (АВНН) in exchange for a minority 9.9% stake in ABHH. Thus, the bank has combined 26-year-old traditions of Ukrsotsbank’s client-centric attitude, European quality of service inherent to UniCredit, as well as international banking expertise of ABHH in a number of European countries including CIS. Thanks to the successful synthesis and synergy of the two assets of ABHH in Ukraine, Ukrsotsbank and Alfa-Bank, the banking market of Ukraine will see the rise of a new stronger financial institution. This, in turn, will spur up technological advance, increase efficiency, improve quality of service for the clients, reduce cost of banking services whereas their range will inevitably expand.

The extensive retail network of Ukrsotsbank consists of 237 branches, its headcount reaching nearly 5 thousand employees.
