25.06.2015

On June 24-25 a delegation of the Top Management of UniCredit Group was in Kiev for an institutional visit. The delegation was composed by the Chairman, Mr Giuseppe Vita, the General Manager, Mr Roberto Nicastro, the Head of the CEE Division, Mr Carlo Vivaldi, and by the Top Management of UniCredit Bank in Ukraine, represented by the First Deputy Chairman (and Chairman designated), Mrs  Tamara Savoschenko.

The delegation was supported by the Italian Ambassador to Ukraine Mr. Fabrizio Romano.

It had the opportunity to meet the President of Ukraine, Mr Poroschenko, the Prime Minister, Mr Yatseniuk, the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, Mrs Gontareva, the Mayor of Kiev, Mr. Klitchko and other key members of the government.

During the talks, which were held in a cordial atmosphere, the UniCredit delegation was able to appreciate the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Ukrainian Administration aimed at promoting the structural reforms needed to support the recovery of the Ukrainian economy. It could also appreciate the actions taken by the National Bank in reforming the banking sector.

"It was a constructive meeting. For foreign investors it’s important to see the President’s understanding of market needs and desires as well as specific actions on the implementation of reforms, which includes improvement of the investment climate in the country - said Mrs. Savoschenko. - We fully support Ukraine's movement towards establishing the most transparent conditions for business."

It was also noted that the Ukrainian Authorities are committed to take steps to implement those reforms, especially the protection of creditors' rights, which is an important part of the overall effort to create a healthy environment for foreign investments.

Finally, Mr Vita appreciated the Administration efforts and praised the quality of the management and employees of UniCredit Bank Ukraine:

"I thank the availability of President, Prime Minister and the other key institutional interlocutors for the valuable meetings and we note their commitment to implement the important structural reforms. It has been interesting visiting Kiev and a pleasure for me having the chance to meet such a competent and committed Management and employee team working in our Central & Eastern Europe Division. I would like to thank Mr. Graziano Cameli for his work as CEO and wish all success for Tamara and Maurio Maschio in their new positions".

To recall, UniCredit group has recapitalized its Ukrainian subsidiary by USD 250 mln and the process of recapitalization by additional USD 250 mln is going on.

NOTE

Ukrsotsbank is one of the largest universal banks of Ukraine, operating in the local market since 1990. The bank offers full range of services to individuals and corporate clients.

The renovated Ukrsotsbank emerged on 31 October 2016 as a result of strategic deal whereby 99.9% of Ukrsotsbank shares have been transferred from UniCredit Group to ABH Holdings S.A. (АВНН) in exchange for a minority 9.9% stake in ABHH. Thus, the bank has combined 26-year-old traditions of Ukrsotsbank’s client-centric attitude, European quality of service inherent to UniCredit, as well as international banking expertise of ABHH in a number of European countries including CIS. Thanks to the successful synthesis and synergy of the two assets of ABHH in Ukraine, Ukrsotsbank and Alfa-Bank, the banking market of Ukraine will see the rise of a new stronger financial institution. This, in turn, will spur up technological advance, increase efficiency, improve quality of service for the clients, reduce cost of banking services whereas their range will inevitably expand.

The extensive retail network of Ukrsotsbank consists of 237 branches, its headcount reaching nearly 5 thousand employees.
