Modern customer services on Internet are a crucial factor of success for banks in the region on Central and Eastern Europe. It was stated by UniCredit Deputy Head of CEE Strategic Analysis Mauro Giorgio Marrano.

“Use of the internet for banking transactions in CEE still lags behind Western European levels. Banking customers in Central and Eastern Europe are extremely tech-savvy. This is shown by the strong growth in online banking in recent years, so modern customer services on Internet are a crucial factor of success for banks in CEE”,- analysed Mauro Giorgio Marrano.

The financial group is convinced that alternative services away from traditional banking loans will also undoubtedly gain in significance. According to UniCredit group analyses, corporate customers will in the future fuel greater demand for non-traditional financing. With private customers there is a potential particularly with asset management services.

Nevertheless, lending remains the most important bank product in the future as well.

“We are expecting moderate lending growth in line with the economic recovery in the region. In CESEE (CEE excluding Russia, Ukraine and Turkey) we anticipate growth of 3.9 percent this year and 4.6 percent next year. In CEE the rates will be 5.1 percent and 7.8 percent”,- said Mr. Marrano.

Thus, the bank has combined 26-year-old traditions of Ukrsotsbank’s client-centric attitude, European quality of service inherent to UniCredit, as well as international banking expertise of ABHH in a number of European countries including CIS. Thanks to the successful synthesis and synergy of the two assets of ABHH in Ukraine, Ukrsotsbank and Alfa-Bank, the banking market of Ukraine will see the rise of a new stronger financial institution. This, in turn, will spur up technological advance, increase efficiency, improve quality of service for the clients, reduce cost of banking services whereas their range will inevitably expand.

The extensive retail network of Ukrsotsbank consists of 237 branches, its headcount reaching nearly 5 thousand employees.
